Announcing a merger, new products, and important awards

The past few months have been tumultuous for businesses all over the globe, but we feel it is important to keep an eye on the future. We are confident that the economy will recover, and eventually be stronger than ever. We are especially proud of our relationships with our Enterprise customers, and look forward to continuing those relationships for many years.
This month in Bridging the Gap, we have exciting news about the consolidation of three key Fujitsu companies into the Fujitsu North America Holding, Inc. The consolidation will allow the new company to share the strengths of each of the business under a single structure. This will ultimately result in more value and efficiency for you, the customer. We also discuss the pending acquisition by Fujitsu of Siemens’ stake in Fujitsu Siemens Computers.
In this issue we introduce new LifeBook notebook, including one which offers swappable color lids and another that has a second LCD display for viewing photo slide shows, launching applications, or for simply using as a second display. On the server side, we discuss the new SPARC Enterprise® M3000 server, powered by a single quad-core SPARC64® VII processor and the Solaris™ 10 OS. We are also proud to announce our Best-in-Show award that we picked up at the BPM Tech Show for our Interstage® BPM software and our inclusion in the Financial Week’s list of Who’s Who in XBRL. Finally, we discuss the recently announced ETERNUS®2000 Single Controller SAN, offering low-cost entry to a storage solution that can be reconfigured for high-availability when the need arises.
We hope you enjoy this edition of the Bridging the Gap newsletter, and would like you to send us any comments or suggestions for improving it.
